My recent retirement and living in the uncharted waters of greying hair and aching hips brought many questions…when did I get old? …who is this person in the mirror? While glancing at the pile of used-up dry flowers, this project was born. Colors faded, shapes changed, textured, and yearning to be seen; these flowers represent the vitality and dignity of the aged. I rely on the use of vibrant colors and abstraction to carve a path for the flowers to dance again. Nature’s eye candy are my favorite subjects as they can steal one’s heart with their botanical perfection, young and old alike. See them in a new light because old is still beautiful.
